Names, places, dates, phrases, or words that hold meaning are gathered and arranged within the Thread & Seek grid system, then woven into cotton.
The result is a quiet grid of hidden words, composed to hold a particular story.
The Process

We shape the language.
The selected words are arranged within the Thread & Seek grid system with attention to spacing, placement, and rhythm.
The piece is woven.
Once the direction is confirmed, the design is prepared for weaving and made as a cotton jacquard blanket.
What to Know
Commissioned pieces are made to order and will take longer than preset pieces.
Timeline depends on the scope of the piece and the conversation needed before production begins.
The final layout is designed by Thread & Seek. Words are hidden in the grid and are not circled or marked on the blanket.
Because commissioned pieces are made specifically for the customer, they are final sale unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect.
